The first season of the Super Serbia project was completed by the final announcement of the HIT products and signing of contracts with six local entrepreneurs whose products will remain on Roda market shelves in 2019!
The product that took the flattering title of the HIT Product of Super Serbia was Zlato u tegli – Gold in a Jar, or honey with chia seeds, cocoa powder, raspberry, blueberry and nettle, created by Miroslav and Jelena Mutić from Nova Pazova.
In addition to the brand Gold in a Jar, a one-year contract for sale in Roda markets in 2019 was also signed by: Freshka gora (natural deodorant in stick), craft brewery RazBeerbriga, Fatalni začini spices (Fatal Paradajz sauce, Fatal Chili and Smoked Tomato in Olive oil) educational toys ArchiPLAY (constructor set), social enterprise Radanska ruža (mild and spicy ajvar and paprika peppers).
In addition to creating innovative and quality products that have produced enviable sales results, these entrepreneurs have also proved to be the most successful in fulfilling other Super Serbia criteria, regarding the overall attitude towards the project, deadline delivery, readiness to improve and promote their product.
“All of the participants in Super Serbia have once again demonstrated that we have great entrepreneurial potential and creative power that can be the engine of Serbia’s development, and we need to strengthen it further.
“These small manufactures have gone a long way, first by preparing products and production facilities for going to the big market shelves, and then during the three months of the project, which involved recording of television shows, media appearances, promotions at sales venues, presence on social networks, and similar.
“They worked each for themselves, but at the same time they were great support for each other, which is another message of this project: we can do a lot on our own, but together we can do everything,” said Marija Bahri, director of business development at Direct Media.
The support that entrepreneurs received during the Super Serbia project was multifaceted. They worked with Roda’s experts to control the quality of their products, obtain necessary laboratory analyses, align the declarations, and then with the Direct Media team who worked on the visual identity of their product, on media promotion, and on communication campaigns on social networks. The very fact that so many experts were available to every participant is a huge advantage, because a small entrepreneur rarely has the opportunity to get such help on their way to success.
“This was great team work, thanks to which we achieved all the set goals, and above all that the consumers of Roda had recognized and fell in love with the products of Serbia. The entrepreneurs who carried the bulk of the work showed great dedication and willingness to work on themselves and to improve their product, to hear and accept constructive critique towards greater quality. They won the sympathies of our customers, but also of our employees who were involved in the project. This brand new way of stimulating entrepreneurship gives results and we are glad that Roda markets are a driver of positive changes in that direction,” said Matija Protić, Director of Marketing Area at Mercator S.
The Super Serbia project will continue to live in future seasons, hoping to encourage all those who are thinking of embarking onto entrepreneurial waters and living their dreams.
The idea for the project came from the Direct Media office in Ljubljana, in partnership with the Formitas agency. They have been implementing the same project in Slovenia for three consecutive years. Thanks to the results achieved, “Start it Up Slovenia” has become one of the most significant communication projects in Slovenia in the last twenty years and has been raised to a status of project of national significance, winning many regional and international awards.
