In November 2018, EACA co-signed the ‘Agenda 2024’ of the Creative Media Business Alliance. The Agenda outlines the vision and expectations of Europe’s creative businesses and addresses EU policy-makers as they prepare for the next European political cycle (2019-2024). The paper was officially handed over to Manuel Mateo, Member of Cabinet of Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, in a meeting on 5 December 2018.
The paper calls on the EU Member States, the future European Commission and current Members of the European Parliament to enact clear and future-proof regulation and to ensure that online intermediaries are taking appropriate steps to fight piracy, among other things. The paper highlights the economic and cultural value of Europe’s creative and media industries at a time when new political priorities are being discussed and negotiated.
The Creative Media Business Alliance (CMBA) is an informal alliance comprising trade associations and individual companies active in the advertising, broadcasting, film, music and publishing sectors since 2004. EACA contributes to the Alliance as the representative of agencies and their creative campaigns.
