This week started in the Sheraton hotel with a meeting with Aleksandra Đermanović, CEO of agency Mediacor, which grew from a PR agency into a full service agency. We have already achieved cooperation with the agency on projects for Viber, which is one of their key clients. I was interested in how marketing on Viber works. She explained everything to me, and when it came to talk about future cooperation with Viber, Aleksandra proposed that we set up a Media Marketing group on this platform that would gather people from the advertising industry. In developing this idea, I suggested that we set up a group for young leaders of the future who should take on responsibility for further development of the industry. I explained to her how this works on the portal through a series of interviews The Young Leaders for Tomorrow and she really liked the idea. She promised to send me suggestions in two weeks on how to form groups and to choose the options that best suit us. To be honest, I’m not quite clear about how we will do it, and how it will work (group members and those who monitor what’s happening inside the group) but I have the feeling that we are on the verge of doing a good thing. Young leaders are the ones who use all networks and platforms and their networking within our group on Viber would be what they need and want.
After Aleksandra, I went to an agreed meeting with Daniel Ackerman in Degordian. Daniel was interested in everything about Media Marketing – since its inception to date. Then he presented his opinion and some suggestions. Daniel fully accepts the mission of Media Marketing and believes that we are doing something very useful for the industry. I gave him a copy of the Creative Portfolio and presented our plans for the development of this project. He understands this project as well, and considers it very important to promote creative achievements in our communications industry. We discussed four modalities of cooperation that would be mutually beneficial. The first two are related to the following of Degordian’s activities through news and original posts. The third model refers to Degordian’s clients and their inclusion in the content. For that, Danijel said, it would be useful that I come to the agency one day and present Media Marketing to his associates and explain opportunities for cooperation with clients. The fourth model is our direct business to business collaboration through which Degordian would give full support to the development of Media Marketing. We are arranging to make a new meeting at the beginning of August and to clarify all forms of cooperation. We are both pleased with the meeting that was supposed to happen even earlier, but something always came up.
After Degordian, I had a meeting with Dunja Ivana Ballon, director of HURA. I returned her three copies of the Creative Portfolio that I borrowed from her to deliver them to the Real Group. In short, we agreed on a plan of interviews with agencies that entered the list of the 25 most successful in BalCannes last year. The meeting with Dunja was a very short one because I was already in a hurry to get to my thyroid operation in the Leptir polyclinic on time.
My thyroid gland has been caught up by fatigue. There was no other solution but to part ways. And while we were ‘saying goodbyes’, I was asleep, so I never got the chance to thank her for having served me well all these 68 years.
I want to thank Dr. Škare and the whole team of the Leptir Polyclinic. They did a good job. I apologize for the fact that I jumped in at the last minute to the agreed term and said, “Please clean this as soon as possible, I want to go home tomorrow.” I also want to thank my friend Kristijan Gregorić for suggesting that I should do surgery at the Leptir polyclinic, and for being a great support to me these last few days. Kristijan, you’re a true friend! Not many people knew I was preparing for surgery in Zagreb. Those who knew sent me kind and warm messages of support. Thank you Vedrana, a wife like no other, thank you Asja, a daughter like no other, thank you Zvezdana Žujo, Mojca Randl and Janja Božič Marolt, friends like no other, thank you Adnan, an associate like no other, and thank you to all the others whose thoughts were with me. I’m coming back to you, better than I’ve ever been before!
