ZGRAF 12 AWARDS
Award ceremony of the Zgraf 12 – International exhibition of graphic design and visual communications was held in Lauba – home for people and art in Zagreb.
An international jury composed of Rick Poynor, Radovan Jenko, Vaughan Oliver, Jianping He i Sanja Rocco, selected the winners of the 12th edition of Zgraf, so the Grand Prix of Zgraf 12 went to Nikola Đurek & Marija Juza for their work Balkans (Croatia, 2012).
Award Zgraf 1 went to Hamper studio (Vučić Ivana, Kaćunić J. Tomislav) and their work Reflections of time 1945 – 1955 (Croatia, 2012), while Zgraf 2 was shared by two projects – Žvokelj Robert with his work Slovenian industrial design (Series- (a) ETA 80, (b) K67, (c) Tomos 4, (d) ESK PRO: Slovenia, 2012/2015.) and Placement (Aubert Danielle, Cavar Lana, Chandani Natasha) for publication Thanks for the View, Mr. Mies (USA, Croatia, 2012)
Award Zgraf Welcome went to Martin Peranović for the work MINES (Croatia, 2014), the award ico-D Excellence Award went to the hands of Ajda Schmidt for her work Series of notebooks for Povše printing (Slovenia, 2015/2016.).
The award of the International Association of Art Critics AICA was also awarded by the jury consisting of Sandra Križić Roban, Marko Golub and Boris Greiner, appointed by the Croatian section of AICA. AICA jury decided to reward the work by Rafaela Dražić, New art for new society: your presence is requested (Croatia, 2015).
IDEJA X AND MIXX AT DAYS OF COMMUNICATION
Start thinking about the projects you will send to the Days of Communication – especially those from the competition IdejaX and Mixx. Entries will officially open these days, but the timely brief is half of the job – and perhaps at least some of the projects will be enter before the last day :).
This year, at the Days of Communication, agencies and advertisers can enter their projects in two prestigious marketing competitions: the IdejaX and Mixx. IdejaX is the competition of the most creative and most original ideas and projects, regardless of the type of media, and Mixx on the other hand is the competition for the best digital projects.
Other competitions, categories, the jury and the big shots coming at this year’s Days of Communication will be announced in the coming days. But deadlines are really good: for IdejaX you have time until 10 March, and for Mixx until 5 March.
26. SOF: LESS ADVERTISMENTS, MORE ADS!
26th Slovenian Advertising Festival will be held in Portorož on 6 and 7 April. The festival remains at the elite venue (Hotel Kempinski Portoroz), in the beautiful seaside ambience.
This year’s SOF will explore the importance of the human factor in advertising. A human, in fact, is the key factor that passes on a good idea or recognizes its power to cut through to the center of our attention. This stream of creative processes and their results will be presented by the Slovenian and foreign experts who make distinction between ads and advertisements.
DELEGATE REGISTRATIONS OPEN FOR CANNES LIONS
The 64th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is opened for registration, with price reductions of up to 10% on a range of passes for under 30s announced.
The reduced pass prices are designed to enable more emerging industry talent to attend the Festival. For all those under 30, the eight-day ‘Complete’ pass has been reduced by 255 Euros since 2016. Two-day ‘Young Lion’ passes for the specialist events that run alongside the Festival – Lions Health, Lions Innovation and Lions Entertainment – now start from 895 Euros, while passes for students in full-time education range from 350 Euros to 1,100 Euros. ENTRIES OPEN FOR STUDENT COMPETITION L’ORÉAL BRANDSTORM
During its 25 years L’Oréal Brandstorm has fully improved the existing concept of the competition, and the biggest novelty this year is that the competition consists of two challenges – in brand and tech. Partner of this year’s Brandstorm is L’Oreal Paris’ Men Expert line of cosmetics, and in accordance with the mission of the brand the students’ mission is “to improve men care through innovation that will change their habits.” Participants will find out all details of the mission after the online registration for the competition, which can be accessed until 20 February. Along with a cash prize of €10,000 for the winning teams of brand and tech challenges, the work that shows the most socially-responsible potential this year will win an additional CSR trophy, and a prize of €5,000.
In order to attract as many young innovators from different fields, L’Oréal Brandstorm for this year prepared two challenges: the brand challenge for students of economics, marketing, communication and related fields; and a tech challenge for future engineers. This move allows students of different technical universities to compete and get a chance to present their ideas, skills and creativity. Teams may consist of undergraduate and graduate students, who may be from different campuses and can apply to both challenges.
One of the major novelties of this year’s Brandstorm refers to a completely new way of selection which is the complete opposite of the current typical presentation before the jury. On 15 June 2017, L’Oreal will organize this year’s finals in Paris, and its first fair of innovations where the regional finalists will present in the role of exhibitors, and will compete with their projects like real entrepreneurs.

RECORD EXPORT OF ABC FRESH CHEESE
ABC fresh cream cheese from Belja, one of the most popular and best selling Croatian dairy products, looks back at a great year behind it, with record breaking exports. In 2016, ABC cheese has recorded total sales growth of 10%, while exports grew by more than 20%. ABC fresh cream cheese can be found in more than 20 countries, and the largest export is on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina, followed by Serbia, Slovenia and the Arab countries.
“Sales in the domestic market continues to grow, but in the foreign markets it has increased significantly. In 2016, we went to several new markets including the Austria. Of the total sales of ABC fresh cream cheese in 2016, 54% was in export. The plan for 2017 is a further expansion of the Arab and Far East markets and even better positioning and increase in market share in countries that have already recognized the quality of ABC fresh cream cheese,” said Davor Bošnjaković, director of Belje Inc.

THE BEST OF GLOBAL DIGITAL MARKETING IN LJUBLJANA
