EUROPOLY: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE OF BALKAN MIGRATIONS INTO THE COUNTRIES OF CENTRAL AND WESTERN EUROPE
A two-day conference of the Europoly project will officially open at the Museum of Yugoslavia, in Belgrade, on April 6 at 17:00h.
Participants of the conference: Boris Buden, Vladimir Ivanović, Alida Bremer and Želimir Žilnik will symbolically play a game of Europoly (a work of art-installation from 2004, made in the format of a Monopoly-like board game) of the Serbo-Austrian artist Dejan Kaludjerovic.
This work examines the situation of immigrants in the EU, as well as the very idea of the EU and the gap between ideals and practice. Citizens of countries that are not EU members, and work in EU countries, were photographed and represented in the game Europoly along with their professions. Luck largely determines the possible success or failure of “players” who want to become part of the EU and take a new European identity. The European Union defines the European identity as something that can only be gained within the EU and which is reserved exclusively for EU citizens, although Europe does not end at the borders of the Union. However, the EU has the power to define identity, the power to establish rules that others must obey. Consumer society of the European Union created a rule according to which everything is for sale, including even our identity.

ANALYSTS CLAIM NEW IPHONE 8 WILL COMPLETELY TRANSFORM THE WORLD OF SMARTPHONES
Every time a new iPhone is set to hit the market, fans of this electronic gadget expect a new leap in technological development, and it seems that the iPhone 8 will definitely mean just that – a leap in the development phase of mobile telephony.
Without any bias, analyst of Apple gadgets Gene Munster said that the new iPhone 8 will change the existing paradigm, because it’s a super phone, based on, as he said, “augmented reality”.
“It will not be the catalyst that will drastically increase sales of Apple’s phones, but over the next few years it will pave the way for brand new computer paradigms,” Munster told CNBC. (Lider)
DUTCH TELECOM ALTICE REPORTEDLY BOUGHT AD-TECH PLAYER TEADS FOR $322 MILLION
Telecom giants continue to gobble up ad-tech players.
The latest of such acquisitions is Teads, a video advertising provider that has sold to Dutch telecom Altice for $322 million, according to a Business Insider report. It’s the kind of data-based, mobile-minded marriage that’s become a trend in recent years, as telecoms look to combine their customer insights with the online ad-targeting capabilities provided by the likes of Teads.
For instance, on Feb. 23, Singtel bought Turn for $310 million. About 13 months ago, ad-tech firm Tapad sold to Telenor, a Norwegian telecom that spent $360 million on its acquisition. And then, of course, there is Verizon’s $4.4 billion purchase of AOL in recent years and its pending agreement to acquire Yahoo for a similar amount.
ADOBE PAIRS WITH MICROSOFT TO POOL SALES AND MARKETING EXPERTISE
Microsoft has joined forces with software provider Adobe in order to pool their respective sales and marketing expertise in a bid to outflank rivals Salesforce and Oracle.
The tie-up will see both partners create a shared data format allowing integration of Adobe’s marketing software, henceforth to be known as the Experience Cloud, with Microsoft’s own Dynamics sales software to create a seamless system spanning the two.
Data sharing between both parties promises to provide businesses with better services by enabling crossover of users from one business to the other, expanding their pools of prospective customers.
