THE MOST SUCCESSFUL AGENCY OF HUOJ GRAND PRIX THIS YEAR WAS PRAGMA KOMUNIKACIJE
Mirela Španjol Marković received HUOJ Grand PRix for the development of the profession in Croatia.
In order to promote good communication practices even among those for whom this is not their profession, HUOJ also gives the awards for Communicator and Anti-Communicator of the Year. As skilled communicators in the Croatian public space, HUOJ recognized Finance Minister Zdravko Marić, former leader of the curriculum reform Boris Jokić, initiator of the portal srednja.hr Marko Matijević and writer Bruno Šimleša, but the award Communicator of the Year went to the people who are not only excellent communicators, but also communication innovators – members of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service. On the other hand, poor public communication during the past year has earned the Rector of the University of Zagreb Damir Boras the Anti-Communicator of the Year award, and HUOJ has offered him free consultation of leading Croatian experts in the field of communication.

DIRECT MEDIA WINS ANOTHER ACCOLADE FOR VIRTUAL TESLA!
Direct Media was awarded the Diplomacy and Commerce award for their virtual reality exhibition “Experience Tesla” which became part of the permanent exhibition of the Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade. According to the jury, the project of virtual Tesla has pushed the boundaries in the use of technology for educational purposes.
Experience Tesla was initiated amid marking Tesla’s jubilee, and 15 years of successful operations of Direct Media, which donated the exhibition to the museum. This unique exhibition was created by Vitomir Jevremović from the agency Digital Mind.
As of recently, the exhibition is also available on the mobile app in English, as well as through the websites www.doziviteslu.com and www.nikolateslaexperience.com.
STOJAN PELKO, NEW VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE GOLDEN DRUM FESTIVAL, RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPETITION AND CONTENT
Save the date, 24th International Festival of Creativity Golden Drum will take place from 18th to 20th October 2017 in – this time the second time – Plečnik’s Ljubljana.
Meet Stojan Pelko, new Vice-President of the Golden Drum Festival!
Stojan worked as a Copywriter and Creative Director at the Slovenian agency Luna (now Luna\TBWA). He was awarded with the title of the Best Creative Director of the Year for his campaign with Delo’s journalists. Stojan is an expert for political marketing and cultural strategy. He is former State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture of Slovenia and former Communication Advisor to the EU Special Representative.

GO GET YOUR CANNES LIONS 2017 TICKETS AT SOF
Slovenian Advertising Festival (SOF) invites young creatives to apply for a competition intended only to them, the Young Lions Slovenia. The competition will be held during the Festival. All registered participants will have 24 hours to come up with the concept or solution for a digital campaign for a given brief. A jury of five members will choose up to eight pairs to be included in the short list, who will have the opportunity to show their solutions at the small stage of SOF. The winning duo will travel to the Cannes Lions Festival where they will participate in the competition Young Lions in the Cyber category.
Applications are open until 25 March 2017, or until all places are taken.
SURVIVAL OF TRADITIONAL MEDIA IN THE DIGITAL FUTURE
This year’s regional communications event Play Media Day 02, which takes place on 19 May at the Kastel fortress in Banja Luka, is presenting the new media panel, Survival of Traditional Media in the Digital Future. This media panel is implemented in cooperation with the Club of Journalists of Banja Luka, and will deal with the issue of adapting traditional media to new technologies and the increasing digitization of content. The panel will be attended by Goran Milić, a journalist and editor with extensive experience, Mirjana Hrga, editor and journalist at RTL Croatia, Milan Ćulibrk, editor in chief of one of the oldest regional weeklies NIN, Vildana Selimbegović, editor in chief of the daily newspaper Oslobodjenje, Maja Raković, the owner and director of the Naxi radio and president of the Association of Radio Stations RAB Serbia.
Panel moderator is Žarko Marković, a journalist with extensive experience in editorial positions, currently editor of news operations at portal Mondo and head of correspondence network at magazine Nedeljnik in Banja Luka.
WEBSI INTERNET CHAMPIONS OF 2017: DIGITALIZATION OF EXCELLENCE & EXCELLENCE OF DIGITALIZATION
WEBSI 2017, the largest Slovenian competition among digital projects for which the creators of digital projects, agencies that implement projects and clients who ordered them are invited to submit their works for the competition in one of 12 categories.
The competition WEBSI Internet Champions in 2017 introduced a new category called events. It includes festivals, music, sports and other events. A new feature is also the selection of the Digital Expert of the Year, the person who left the biggest mark in Slovenian digital space in the past 12 months.
All submitted projects will be evaluated by a jury of 70 experts and businessmen. The jury will be chaired by Rok Cuderman, Director of Marketing at Petrol Ljubljana.
