RIJEKA 2020 IS LOOKING FOR LECTURERS FOR CULTURE BRANDING CONFERENCE
RIJEKA 2020 – European Capital of Culture this year organizes the Culture Branding Conference, to be held from February 28 to March 2, and is looking for lecturers. Association HURA! invited all its members to apply as lecturers or submit their proposals of potential candidates. The RIJEKA 2020 organization will cover lecturers’ fees, travel and accommodation.
Some of the already confirmed lecturers are: Erik Kessels (designer, artist, curator and co-owner of the KesselsKramer agency), Miguel Rivas (partner in the TASO group, specializing in branding cities), Kai Amberla (director of the Finland Festivals, dance, literary and visual cultural programs organization), Boris Ljubičić (designer) and MUZE (organization for cultural tourism and management).

SIGNET JEWELERS SIGNS NEW AGENCY PARTNERS TO DRIVE GROWTH
Signet Jewelers Limited announced three new agency partners to improve the effectiveness of its investments in advertising and marketing, and in support of the three strategic priorities of its Path to Brilliance transformation plan – Customer First, OmniChannel, and a Culture of Agility and Efficiency.
Signet selected the agencies following a competitive bid process to transform and streamline the company’s investments in marketing.
Signet selected MediaCom to oversee all media planning and buying for its four US banners: KAY, Jared, Zales, and Piercing Pagoda.
“I am thrilled to work with Signet Jewelers, and believe that our creativity will help deliver greater business outcomes for their banners,” said Sasha Savic, MediaCom’s US CEO.
Signet appointed Zimmerman as the new creative agency and strategic partner for its KAY banner, and selected Badger & Winters as agency of record to develop its Zales brand platform and extend it into integrated advertising and digital campaigns.
NEW REINFORCEMENTS FOR DALMATIA REGION AT GRAWE HRVATSKA D.D.
The development of agency sales and bank channels for GRAWE Croatia in the region of Dalmatia from February 1, 2019 has been taken over by the new director of sales, Ljubomir Dujmov. His extensive sales leadership experience and continuous sales and management training will greatly contribute to continuing to strengthen co-operation with external sales partners.

PURINA AND JOURNAL AWARD #WEAREBETTERWITHPETS AWARDS
PURINA and Journal have gathered pets and their owners at the #WeAreBetterWithPets awards ceremony, where they celebrated the people most responsible for creating a better world for pets in 2018.
#WeAreBetterWithPets is the award that PURINA has been awarding to those who contributed to the better quality of life of pets for the second consecutive year. Awards are presented in three categories: Public Person – Enthusiast of the Year, Enthusiast of the Year and Special Prize.
This year, the Public Person – Enthusiast of the Year was awarded to jazz diva Zdenka Kovačiček, who held a large number of concerts for the purpose of collecting help for less fortunate animals. Nikolina Raček, who saves abandoned animals using her own funds and cares about finding them new homes is the winner in the category of Enthusiast of the Year. The special award was awarded to the rescue team of the Karlovac Mountain Rescue Service, which has over 1,000 interventions per year, of which a large number refers to the rescue of lives. In most search and rescue actions, the responders rely on their most trusted team members – dogs.
BAIDU DOUBLES DAILY USERS TO 300 MILLION OVERNIGHT WITH CNY CAMPAIGN
China’s search giant partnered with the state-owned broadcaster CCTV, for its New Year’s Gala programme to promote its campaign which offered RMB 900m ($133m) in cash prizes.
The promotion, which took place on Lunar New Year, encouraged users to download Baidu’s app and follow instructions to win cash prizes in hong bao (red envelopes).
During the four-hour gala programme, which is the most watched entertainment show in the world, 100 million users received a red envelope containing RMB 20.19 ($3) while 10,000 users won RMB 2019 ($299), according to Yahoo Finance.
The promotion saw Baidu’s daily active users surge to 300 million overnight.
